Guided Walks & Talks

The Friends like to encourage the enjoyment of the Berryhill Fields by organising themed guided walks. Past years have included Wildlife Walks & Butterfly Walks with local expert, Dr Dave Skingsley from Staffordshire University, History Walks, Bat Walks, Dawn Chorus Walk, Mammal Walks, and a pre-Christmas Hot Toddy Walk.

The Walks that have been planned so far for this year are:

Nature Walk

Sunday, 21st July, 2019, from 10:30am, meeting at the top of Arbourfield Drive, Eaton Park.  The walk will be a “joint led” walk by Andy from the Countryside team and Craig Slawson. Craig is the Senior Ecological Records Officer for Staffs-ecology. Craig will be bringing sweep nets to help to get a closer look at the insects etc. on the Fields.  Andy’s expertise is wild flowers so between them we will hopefully have some good knowledge to make it an interesting walk.

Please note: As the walks often include grass paths, which may be muddy and rutted in places, sturdy footwear is advised.
